Survival School Weekend Course

The weekend course is more of a fun, safe learning experience than an endurance event. If you have a group, you can book your own weekend or 2 night course during the week. If you want endurance, please visit the extrme survival page.

This is a hands on course. The instructors will explain and demonstrate but you will get the opportunity to have a go at everything!

This course teaches you the fundamental principles of survival and wilderness bushcraft including navigation, fire making, shelter building, and food and water preparation and collection. You will also cover the following subjects: traps and snares, natural navigation, knife sharpening, compass navigation, edible plants, fire lighting by friction, cooking techniques, tree identification and uses for different woods, camp craft, water sourcing, collection, filtration and purification, game preparation (usually fish, mammal and bird) and more.

It will also teach you how to live comfortably in the wilderness. You will be shown how to make backwoodsman's candles, natural cordage and you get a woodland sauna on the last morning. This is our most popular course and when you've completed it you will understand why.

The skills and techniques you need to live in the wilderness are expertly demonstrated and explained so that you can master them before leaving the course. You need have no knowledge of survival skills to attend this course. This is learning through experience at its best.
