Bow Drill Friction Fire Lighting Course

From 10th July to 12th July 2009 we will be running a Friction Fire Lighting Course in Staffordshire, and from 11th to 13th September in Devon. The aim of this course is for you to leave the course KNOWING that you can light a fire by friction using the Fire Bow method. We will teach you how to craft your bow drill set, and make the cordage to get the bow set working for the next course, how to make a tinder bundle, what to make a tinder bundle from, which woods to make your hand drill set from and most importantly, how it all goes together. Fire lighting by friction is one of the skills that everyone finds amazing every time they do it. It looks difficult, but we'll show you how to succeed.

When you are not being taught or practising your fire lighting skills, you have the whole wood to practise your bushcraft skills and a team of instructors to seek advice from.
