The Aim of the Extreme Survival Course is to teach you how to survive in Wilderness Areas.  The Survival School Extreme Survival Course is probably one of the best survival courses in the country.

Not only do you get the best scenery in the country, but it is also a chance to live and learn bushcraft in an extreme and sometimes hostile environment. This course is about learning to live in mountainous areas and how to look after yourself and others in remote wilderness locations. Places for this course go quickly.

LEVEL 3 EXTREME SURVIVAL COURSE

For this course you will need to arrive on Sunday night having already had your evening meal.  The course will officially start on Monday morning after a breakfast which is supplied by us.

Itinerary:

  • Sunday Evening: Welcome and Safety Brief.  Safe cutting techniques, setting up camp
  • Monday:  Intense firelighting session with the emphasis on lighting fires in wet weather.  Followed by individual camp set up and game preparation. Axe proficiency.
  • Tuesday:  Jerky production, Charcloth production, Advanced fire lighting, water purification practical
  • Wednesday:  101 things to do with a conifer – from root to needle (eat it, drink it, build it, glue it, light it)
  • Thursday: Spoon or bowl carving, advanced game preparation and  trap making
  • Friday:  The course finishes at around 12pm on the Friday

The Applied Wilderness Skills Course is designed to teach you how to live comfortably in remote parts of northern Europe. The itinerary may change depending on weather, but all subjects will be covered.

What will you learn on the course:  Level 3 Applied Bushcraft Skills Learning Outcomes
