The Aim of this course is to teach you how to produce tools that our ancestors would have made. On this course you will learn how to work with bone to make an adze, drills, needles, harpoon points, combs and much, much more. You will also have the opportunity to compare the cordage used in pre-history.
You will be taught the ethical sourcing of the materials used in primitive tool production, which bones are ideal for specific tools, how to compile 'bundles' and how to produce compound tools We will provide you with the raw materials, but it is up to you to put them all together. Everything you make you can take away with you. There is an opportunity at the end to test the tools you've made. All this is put into an archaeological and pre-history context.
This is a hands on course. The instructors will explain and demonstrate but you will get the opportunity to have a go at everything!
