The Aim of this course is to teach you how to make the weapons that our ancestors would have made. On this course you will learn how to flint knap arrow and spear heads, select shafts for arrows and spears and make atlatls and bows to fire your arrows from. You will also learn how to fletch your arrows using natural materials.
You will be taught the use of the correct woods, how to use resin, bindings, flights, flint working and the safe tool work that is so necessary to complete the weapons you make. We will provide you with the raw materials, but it is up to you to put them all together. Everything you make you can take away with you.
This is a hands on course. The instructors will explain and demonstrate but you will get the opportunity to have a go at everything!
